Aspen's own professional theater company, Theater Aspen, stages professional drama and musicals throughout the summer. Formerly known as Aspen Theater in the Park, the theater has a long history of bringing professional theater to Aspen. The theater's season lasts from June to August and performances are held almost every day in a huge tent situated behind Rio Grande Park. There are also free concerts featuring a wide variety of performers from all over America held from Thursday to Saturday during the summer months. The concerts are held near to the Snowmass Village Mall on Snowmass Mountain.

After dark, the city's nightlife shines as much as the Milky Way above. There are more than 100 bars in the Aspen area, covering all types of entertainment possibilities. One of the most popular clubs in town is Club Chelsea, offering classic rock and blues bands in the main area, while the basement features a DJ playing the latest dance tunes. Alternatively, McSorile's Irish Pub offers customers a good pint and a friendly atmosphere.
