Information about Boston Theaters - Boston, Massachusetts (MA), USA
The first theater to be built here was the Colonial Theater in 1900. The theater has been running continuously for 10 decades and over the years it has seen many famous actors grace the stage. Another theater of historical importance is The Majestic, which plays a central part in the local community of Boston. The building itself is very much a Boston landmark and it hosts regular performances throughout the year, performed by non-profit arts groups.
The Wilbur Theater has also seen many great productions over the years including the 1939 production 'A street Car Named Desire', which stared Marlon Brando. After undergoing a major renovation in 1989, the theater once again hosts prominent performances and has seen big names such as Quentin Tarantino direct here.
Probably the most famous live music venue in Boston is Paradise, know by locals as 'dise. Many of the world's most popular and creative bands have played here at one time or other including The Police, U2 and The Cranberries among others.
