The Philadelphia Theater Company has an 'all premieres' policy and brings the best new works to its Center City stage at the Plays & Players Theater. The Prince Music Theater is dedicated to the nurturing of musical theater in all its forms, from opera to Broadway musicals as well as experimental performances. Among the many other Philadelphia theaters and companies are the Walnut Street Theater, Hedgerow Theater, Madhouse Theater Company, Act II Playhouse and the Bushfire Theater of Performing Arts.

The Electric Factory is one of the major Philadelphia concert halls and hosts national and international acts on a regular basis.
